The Initiative

In a bid to help out the candidates for the Post Graduate Progamme in Management (PGP), Post Graduate Progamme in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM) and Fellow Programme in Management (FPM),  the Students’ Affairs Council at IIMA brings the ‘Ask the Students’ initiative. We would be helping the candidates with queries regarding the interview process at IIMA. You can now mail us your queries at ‘askthestudents@iimahd.ernet.in’ and we shall respond to the frequently asked queries on this blog. The more personal queries will be replied to you personally. Please do not forget to mention your complete contact details and background information along with your queries. This will help us respond better to your queries.

Please note that this is NOT an official initiative and is being wholly taken up the students to help out the aspirants. This is in no way linked to the official admissions process and needless to say, will not reflect in any way on the results. Also, our replies would be based on our experiences of the process last year and are in no way indicative of the process this year.

Although we are tied up with assignments and submissions in what promises to be the most hectic slot at WIMWI, we will try to respond to queries as soon as possible. Please bear with us in case of slight delay.

@ ~youknow who – I guess your confusion is with regards to what is “Official” and what is “Unofficial”. By saying that it is unofficial simply means that the authorities are not involved directly in the conceptualization, implementation and execution of this initiative. The students council of the institute, take up this initiative on their own, with the institute “supporting” the idea and hence the official E-mail ID. Helps in giving legitimacy.

indeed its a grt initiative…but i would request the coordinators to pls accept anonymous questions (as of now participants have to submit questions along with contact details) becoz i feel some people might be apprehensive about submitting their queries (thinking its an official forum)….and eventually its upto the discretion of the coordinators whether to post the queries or not….

We have asked for the contact details so that in case a personal reply is needed then we can contact the candidate directly. This has been done in a few cases. Also, we have been receiving anonymous queries all of which have been posted on the blog. You must have noticed that we screen out the candidates personal information before posting his/her query on the post.

If this is not an official initiative then why do we have a official ID, askthestudents@iimahd.ernet.in , here ?

I think there has to be a clear demarcation between official and student initiatives and floating a site like this with all the references to IIM A sure doesn’t make it look like an unofficial/student run initiative.

Would appreciate if clarity w.r.t authority could be ‘clearly’ projected.

Yes, this is NOT an official initiative. It has been initiated and is being completely managed by the students.

This is the beauty of the system at IIMA. It encourages everyone to follow their free thinking and develops leaders. Hence, if the students want to take up a new initiative, the institute encourages them to do so.
