Hi Ravi,

1. Yes, it is extra curricular activity. i.e. beyond the academic curriculum.
2. Yes, it is social activity and can be taken under extracurricular activity head.
3. It is advisable to not mention anything for which you don't own a written proof from an appropriate authority.

Since, you have already mentioned. Kindly get a written proof for it.

I am sure all schools maintain records and shall willingly agree to provide a proof for the same. In case, you are not able to get it in person. Kindly get an email printout or fax printout for the time-being.

Also, if you can't get it in person and you have already mentioned it, kindly inform the interviewer upfront to avoid any confusion later on. It should not be an issue.

All the best for preparations.

Hi Pradeep,

Since it is an interview form question, we shall not be able to help you with that.
You should take your call and answer the way which you seem to be appropriate.
If asked this, you can tell your assumptions in the interview or you can mention the same in beginning of your answer or as footnote.
How you understand and approach the question is one important aspect, I feel.
While the thought process shall be the most important aspect, writing skills shall also carry some weightage.
It doesn't mean that you need to use heavy words and jargons. Use your normal english and please check it is coherent, consistent and error free.
It is advisable that you make a few rough copies before writing the final answer.

Hi Sona,
Apologies for the delay in reply.
Hope your interview had went well.
But, yes. preparation for academics is very important.
The reason is that you should be knowing basic concepts of your graduation.
Since you might be pursuing academics with high rigor here, it is a means to assess the value addition you have gained from your graduation and portrayal of your interest in studies. All the basic concepts should be clear as any aspect can be touched upon as per the discretion of interviewer.

All the best for results.

Hi Ajitesh,

If you are a fresher with no work experience, I`d suggest you brush up subjects like algorithms, operating systems, database management systems, networks. However, there is no guarantee that questions from Computer Science will be asked. Hence, as Rushiraj suggested, be aware of the latest technological developments, policy changes which effect the industry, updates etc;

If you have a work experience, in addition to the above, please be ready with the projects you have worked for. That might help you a lot

Hi Seniors,
Please clarify my doubts:
1. Should being on college chess team and winning inter college and intra college team competitions be put under extra curricular or under hobbies (chess being my hobby)?
2. Can Teaching non privileged students can be put under extra curriculars or hobby - I have certificates??
3. I was among school toppers(3rd rank) in both 10th and 12th and I mention it on most applications but i do not have any proof that I was indeed 3rd. Should I mention it ?

ThankYou in advance.

Hello,

The questions are upon discretion of interviewer. But, why ABM is something you can expect and it is already in the form. Apart from that questions related to your form, background (graduation), sector pertaining to your graduation, future plans, HR based questions etc. can be expected.

Just try to give answers simply with a smile and honesty as if you are telling to a friend. There's no need to be nervous. Just be yourself and be genuine.

Hello,

Since you are going to pursue a “post graduation” in a particular sector, it is important that you are making a well-informed choice. Hence, the question why ABM is the core question with the interview.

The ABM program is for people interested in agribusiness, rural and allied sectors and work in the same in the future. Going through IIM-Ahmedabad website gives you a fair idea about the course. It is advisable that you browse the internet about agribusiness sector in India and abroad to make a more informed choice. Think about your future plans and see how they align with the ABM program. Perhaps, it can help you to understand why ABM. The genuinity for the program shall naturally evolve within you when you realize your true interest in pursuing ABM.

Hope this helps.
All the best for preparation.

Also it is important that you state your own reasons for pursuing the ABM programme and not why the ABM programme has be part of IIM A.
